How the test works
- Click anywhere in the box to start. The first click counts.
- Keep clicking as fast as you can until the timer runs out.
- Your score is clicks per second (CPS): total clicks divided by the time.
What it measures
Butterfly clicking uses two fingers on the same mouse button, tapping one after the other. Because each finger only clicks half the time, you can reach much higher speeds than with one finger.
What is a good score?
| Score | Better than about |

Estimated from typical scores for this kind of test.
Tips to improve
- Rest your index and middle fingers on the left button.
- Alternate them like drumming, keeping both close to the button.
- Start slowly to get an even rhythm, then speed up.
Frequently asked questions
What is a good butterfly click CPS?
Around 11 CPS is typical. 15 CPS or more puts you in roughly the top 10%, and some players reach over 20.
Is butterfly clicking faster than jitter clicking?
For most people, yes, and it's easier on the arm. It works best on mice whose button registers light, quick presses.
